Day 1: Departure
Evening departure with an overnight flight to Madrid.

Day 2: Adventure Begins
Upon arrival at the airport, a tour escort will meet the group and take the group to their hotel via motor coach. After check in the group will have to unpack before joining the tour escort for some local sightseeing. We will have dinner at a local restaurant and the group will have a free evening, before returning to the hotel.

Day 3: Tour
After breakfast we will begin our guided city tour, via motor coach. We will see the Puerta del Sol (the 15th century entrance to Madrid) & the Plaza del Sol, the Teatro Real (opera house), the Egyptian Temple of Debod (moved to Madrid in 1968) and the Plaza Oriente. We will end our tour at the Plaza Mayor, the site of weddings, tournaments, bullfights and inquisitions. The group will have dinner at a local restaurant and a free time before returning to the hotel for the night.

Day 4: Tour
After breakfast we will take a tour of the Palacio Royal (royal palace). We will visit the Throne Hall, the Gasparini Room, the Bacilica and the armory. We will end our tour by taking a stroll through the palace gardens. After lunch we will go to the Prado Museum, which displays paintings by Goya and El Greco as well as Flemish and Italian artists. We will have dinner a local restaurant.

Day 5: Museum Tour
After breakfast we will check out the hotel before visiting the Bullfight Museum and learn about Spain’s legendary pastime. After the museum we will make our way to Toledo, the capital of Spain until 1540. Upon our arrival we will check in to our hotel and start a walking tour of the city and have dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 6: Adventure
After breakfast, we will visit St. Mary’s Synagogue, which was originally a mosque, then became a synagogue and ended up a church. We’ll also pay a visit to the Cathedral, the Church of Santo Tome and Alcazar. In the afternoon we will begin our journey to Cordoba, where we will visit the La Mezquita, the worlds 3rd largest mosque. We will have a late check in to our hotel and dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 7: Guided Tour
After breakfast, we will have some free time to explore before we check out of the hotel and drive to Seville. Upon our arrival we will have a guided city tour. We will visit the Jewish Quarter, the Old Tobacco Factory (setting for the opera Carmen), the Plaza de Toros (bullring) and Cathedral Sevilla, one of the largest gothic cathedrals in the world. While there we will see Christopher Columbus’s tomb, next we will pay a visit to Alcazar. The group will have a free afternoon and dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 8: Free Day
After breakfast, the group will check out and begin our journey back to Madrid. Upon our arrival we will check into our hotel and the group will have a free day in Madrid. We will have our farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
