Day 1: Departure
Arrive in Seattle and meet your EDU Trips group escort. Head to the venerable Pike Place Market, which celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2007. Don’t miss the show at the Pike Place Fish Market , whose fishmongers toss 20-pound salmon back and forth to one another. Next you’ll descend the Pike Hill climb to reach the Seattle Waterfront where we will embark on a scenic boat cruise to Blake Island. The boat docks at Tillicum Village where you will learn about the Native Americans that lived in the Northwest. Enjoy a performance from the Coast Salish dancers and learn of the myths & legends of the region.
Day 2: Adventure Begins
We’ll begin today with a visit to the Space Needle. Take the glass walled elevator to the top and enjoy 360 degree views of the city, Mount Rainier & Puget Sound. Next you’ll visit the EMP Museum dedicated to the history and exploration of popular music, science fiction & pop culture. From there you’ll visit Olympic Sculpture Park and experience a variety of sculptures while enjoying the Olympic Mountains as a backdrop. In the evening, you will go down to Seattle Center for some free time to walk around and explore the Seattle Mural.
Day 3: Museum Tour
Wake up early and depart for our day trip to Tacoma. You will start by going to the Tacoma Art Museum. It displays remarkable collections of work by Northwest artists and features traveling exhibits throughout the year. The museum is host to a permanent display of glass art by Tacoma native and world-renowned artist Dale Chihuly. In the afternoon, you will drive back to Seattle where you will go on Bill Speidel’s Underground Tour. This guided tour will take you through the hidden subterranean passages that once were the main roadways and storefronts of old downtown.
Day 4: Day of Fu
After you check out of the hotel we will visit Theo Chocolate Factory. On the factory tour you will learn the story of cacao, the social and environmental issues related to cocoa and at the end of the tour you will get to try some of their amazing products. After the tour you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home
